VCJump Terms of Use and Software License
Last updated: August 31, 2026
These Terms of Use and Software License ("Terms") govern the download, installation, evaluation, licensing and use of VCJump ("VCJump" or the "Software").
By downloading, installing, activating or using VCJump, you acknowledge that you have read and agree to these Terms.
If you do not agree to these Terms, do not install or use VCJump.
If you accept these Terms on behalf of an employer, company or other organization, you represent that you have the authority to bind that organization to these Terms. In that case, "you" and "your" refer to that organization as applicable.
1. About VCJump
VCJump is a software engineering tool designed to provide a controlled bridge between supported AI-assisted development workflows and Siemens TIA Portal.
The current VCJump release is designed and validated for Siemens TIA Portal V21.
VCJump is intended for use by PLC programmers, automation engineers and other users with appropriate knowledge and experience in industrial automation and Siemens TIA Portal.
VCJump is an engineering assistance tool. It does not replace professional engineering judgment, project review, testing, validation, commissioning procedures, functional-safety procedures or appropriate project backups.
2. Independent Third-Party Product
VCJump is an independent third-party software product.
VCJump is not affiliated with, endorsed by, sponsored by or approved by Siemens AG.
Siemens, SIMATIC, TIA Portal and related names and marks belong to their respective owners.
Nothing on the VCJump website, in the Software or in its documentation should be interpreted as representing an official relationship, partnership, certification or approval by Siemens AG.
3. Free Trial
VCJump may offer eligible users a free 14-day Trial license. Trial licenses are issued upon request and are subject to eligibility, technical compatibility, availability, and approval by VCJump.
VCJump reserves the right to decline, limit, suspend, or discontinue Trial access, including in cases of duplicate requests, suspected abuse, fraud, misuse, security concerns, violation of these Terms, or applicable legal or regulatory restrictions.
A Trial license is machine-bound and intended for evaluation of VCJump. A Trial license does not create any entitlement to additional Trial licenses, extensions, renewals, or future free access.
The Trial period begins on the effective date specified in the issued Trial license.
Submission of a Trial license request does not guarantee that a Trial license will be issued.
4. Beta and Pre-Release Software
A VCJump release identified as "beta", "pre-release", "preview", "release candidate" or similar is a pre-release version of the Software.
Pre-release versions may contain defects, incomplete functionality, compatibility issues or behavior that may change in later releases.
Features, workflows, configuration formats, supported operations and implementation details of a pre-release version may be modified before or after a stable release becomes available.
The use of a beta or other pre-release version does not remove the user's responsibility to maintain appropriate project backups and independently review, test and validate engineering results.
A beta designation does not limit any mandatory rights that cannot legally be excluded under applicable law.
5. Software License Grant
VCJump is licensed, not sold.
Subject to these Terms and possession of a valid license, VCJump grants the license holder a limited, non-exclusive and non-transferable right to install and use VCJump on one licensed computer.
The license does not transfer ownership of VCJump, its source code, architecture, technology or intellectual property to the user.
A VCJump license may not be transferred to another person or entity except where expressly authorized in writing.
Reissuing a license to the same legitimate license holder following an approved computer replacement or significant hardware change is not considered a transfer to another person.
Unless otherwise stated at the time of purchase, a paid VCJump license is purchased through a one-time payment.
The current paid license grants perpetual use of the purchased VCJump license with Siemens TIA Portal V21, subject to these Terms.
For purposes of these Terms, "perpetual" means that the purchased license does not expire merely because time has passed.
A perpetual VCJump V21 license does not automatically include:
- compatibility with future Siemens TIA Portal versions;
- future major VCJump releases that may require a separate license;
- additional computers;
- additional licenses;
- additional products or services; or
- functionality introduced in separately licensed products or editions.
Future upgrades or support for additional Siemens TIA Portal versions may be offered separately and may be subject to additional charges.
6. One Computer Per License
Each VCJump license is valid for one computer and may be machine-bound.
A separate license is required for each additional computer on which VCJump is used.
A single license does not grant the right to use VCJump across multiple computers by repeatedly moving, copying or sharing the license.
If the licensed computer is replaced or undergoes a significant hardware change, VCJump may issue a replacement license upon request and verification of the existing license.
Replacement licenses are intended for legitimate computer replacement or significant hardware-change situations.
Repeated, excessive, suspicious or abusive license-transfer requests may be declined.
If a replacement license is issued, this does not create the right to continue using both the previous computer and the replacement computer as separately licensed installations.
7. Permitted Use and License Restrictions
Subject to these Terms, a valid VCJump license may be used for professional, commercial or personal engineering work.
You may use VCJump to perform authorized engineering work for your employer or clients, provided that the VCJump license itself is not shared, transferred or installed on additional computers beyond the licensed scope.
You may not:
- use one license on more computers than permitted;
- share, publish, resell, sublicense or redistribute a VCJump license or license data except where expressly permitted;
- distribute VCJump as a standalone product or as part of another commercial product without written authorization;
- create or distribute unauthorized copies of VCJump;
- reverse engineer, decompile, disassemble or otherwise attempt to derive the source code, proprietary algorithms, internal implementation or licensing mechanisms of VCJump, except to the extent expressly permitted by applicable law;
- use modified software, scripts, automated tools or other techniques to bypass, defeat, disable or interfere with VCJump licensing restrictions or machine-binding mechanisms;
- falsify, manipulate, generate or alter licensing information for unauthorized use;
- remove ownership, copyright or licensing notices;
- use confidential or non-public VCJump implementation details primarily to copy, reproduce or clone VCJump or its proprietary functionality; or
- use VCJump in violation of applicable law.
Nothing in these Terms restricts rights that cannot lawfully be restricted.
8. Prohibited, Unlawful and Unauthorized Use
VCJump may not be used for any unlawful, unauthorized, fraudulent or malicious purpose.
You may not use VCJump to:
- access, modify or interfere with any engineering project, software, system or data that you are not authorized to access or modify;
- intentionally damage, disrupt, sabotage or interfere with industrial systems, equipment, software or engineering projects;
- bypass security controls, access restrictions or safety procedures without proper authorization;
- create, modify or use engineering logic for an unlawful or malicious purpose;
- infringe the intellectual-property, confidentiality, contractual or other legal rights of any third party;
- facilitate fraud, unauthorized access, malicious activity or other unlawful conduct; or
- use VCJump in any manner prohibited by applicable law or regulation.
The user is solely responsible for ensuring that they have all necessary authorization, permissions and legal rights to access and modify any engineering project, software or system used with VCJump.
The fact that VCJump is technically capable of performing an operation does not constitute authorization to perform that operation.
VCJump and its owner or operator are not responsible for unlawful, unauthorized, fraudulent or malicious use of the Software by a user.
To the extent permitted by applicable law, VCJump may refuse, suspend or terminate licensing rights where there is reasonable evidence that the Software is being used for unlawful, unauthorized, fraudulent or malicious activity.
9. Engineering Responsibility
VCJump is an engineering assistance tool.
The user remains solely responsible for reviewing, understanding, validating and approving engineering changes before relying on them in any production, commissioning or operational environment.
The fact that VCJump successfully synchronizes, compiles, validates or saves a project does not mean that the resulting PLC logic is functionally correct, safe, complete or suitable for the intended machine, process or application.
A successful Siemens TIA Portal compilation confirms only what that compilation process itself establishes. It must not be interpreted as independent verification of engineering intent or real-world behavior.
AI-generated or AI-assisted engineering output must not be assumed to be correct merely because VCJump successfully processed it.
The user remains responsible for following appropriate engineering review, testing, simulation, verification, commissioning, backup, safety and change-control procedures.
10. Project Backups and Recovery
Before allowing VCJump to synchronize, modify, compile, validate or save engineering project content, the user is responsible for maintaining suitable backups or recovery mechanisms.
These may include:
- TIA Portal project archives;
- separate project copies;
- versioned source files;
- source-control history; or
- other recovery procedures appropriate to the engineering environment.
VCJump is not a substitute for proper engineering backup, archive or version-control procedures.
The user should ensure that an appropriate recoverable project state exists before applying changes that the user may later wish to reverse.
11. Engineering Changes, Saving and Reversal
VCJump may synchronize, compile, validate and, where requested through the configured workflow, save changes to a Siemens TIA Portal project.
The user is responsible for deciding whether engineering changes should be accepted, synchronized, compiled, saved or otherwise used.
VCJump does not guarantee that a change that has been synchronized, compiled or saved can subsequently be automatically reversed, restored or undone.
To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law, VCJump and its owner or operator are not responsible for loss, corruption, deletion, overwriting, unintended modification or other changes to an engineering project resulting from use of VCJump, including where:
- the user later decides that an accepted or saved change was undesirable;
- the user changes their mind after a project has been compiled or saved;
- AI-generated or AI-assisted modifications produce an unintended engineering result;
- previously existing project content is overwritten or replaced;
- a block, source file or other engineering artifact is changed unexpectedly;
- the user is unable to restore an earlier project state;
- an adequate backup or archive was not created before the operation; or
- the user initiates or accepts an operation without adequately reviewing the resulting engineering changes.
A successful compilation or validation does not guarantee that a saved engineering change will behave as intended in the real application.
12. Controlled Product Scope
VCJump intentionally operates within defined engineering boundaries.
The current VCJump workflow:
- validates the active Siemens TIA Portal project;
- validates the configured VCI workspace;
- restricts operations to approved PLC software objects;
- stops the relevant workflow following synchronization or compilation failures; and
- does not save the project after a failed operation where the configured workflow requires successful validation before saving.
The current VCJump workflow does not:
- download software to PLCs;
- perform online PLC operations;
- modify hardware configuration;
- modify network configuration; or
- modify device addresses.
These capabilities and boundaries describe the current product and may evolve in future releases.
13. Third-Party Software, Services and Compatibility
VCJump interacts with or depends upon third-party products or services that may include Siemens TIA Portal, Siemens Openness and supported AI services.
VCJump does not grant or provide licenses, subscriptions or permissions required to use Siemens TIA Portal, Siemens Openness, Codex or any other third-party product or service.
The user is responsible for obtaining and maintaining all required:
- Siemens software licenses;
- AI-service accounts or subscriptions;
- Windows permissions;
- TIA Openness access; and
- other third-party licenses or permissions.
Third-party products and services are governed by their own terms, policies and licensing requirements.
VCJump does not control third-party products or services and is not responsible for their availability, operation, errors, discontinuation or independent security or privacy practices.
Changes made by third-party providers to their:
- software;
- APIs;
- technical interfaces;
- licensing requirements;
- security policies;
- access requirements; or
- supported functionality
may affect VCJump compatibility or functionality.
VCJump does not guarantee continued compatibility following changes made independently by third-party providers.
14. Third-Party and Open-Source Components
VCJump may include, incorporate or rely upon third-party or open-source software components.
Those components remain subject to their respective copyright notices and license terms.
Where required by an applicable third-party or open-source license, relevant notices or license terms will be made available with the Software, its distribution package or accompanying documentation.
Nothing in these Terms restricts any rights granted directly to the user under an applicable third-party or open-source license.
Third-party components are not transferred into VCJump ownership merely because they are distributed with or used by VCJump.
15. Payments and Merchant of Record
Purchases of VCJump may be processed through a third-party Merchant of Record or payment provider.
Where a Merchant of Record such as Lemon Squeezy processes a purchase, the transaction, billing, tax processing and payment-related matters may also be subject to that provider's buyer terms and privacy policy.
The VCJump software license itself remains subject to these Terms.
The payment provider may process information such as:
- purchaser name;
- email address;
- billing information;
- payment information;
- transaction information; and
- applicable tax information.
VCJump does not directly store or process full payment-card details when those details are handled by the payment provider.
16. Refund Policy
VCJump provides a free 14-day evaluation period so that users can evaluate the Software, verify compatibility with their engineering environment and determine whether VCJump is suitable for their intended use before purchasing.
Users are strongly encouraged to complete the free evaluation before purchasing a paid license.
VCJump does not voluntarily offer refunds for completed paid license purchases after the paid license has been issued, except where:
- a refund is required by applicable law;
- mandatory consumer or contractual rights require another remedy; or
- a refund is issued or required by the applicable Merchant of Record or payment provider.
A user's decision that an engineering change was undesirable does not by itself constitute grounds for a refund.
Likewise, the following do not by themselves create a right to a refund:
- changing one's mind about a saved project change;
- dissatisfaction with AI-generated or AI-assisted engineering output;
- failure to create an appropriate project backup;
- inability to undo a saved change; or
- deciding after purchase that VCJump is unsuitable where the relevant functionality could reasonably have been evaluated during the free trial.
Nothing in this section limits any mandatory statutory remedy that cannot legally be excluded, including remedies that may apply if the Software is materially defective, materially not supplied as described or otherwise fails to conform to mandatory legal requirements.
17. Support
The free Trial license is intended for evaluation and includes available setup guidance, diagnostics and documentation.
Personal setup assistance may be available to users with a paid VCJump license.
Unless separately agreed in writing, VCJump does not guarantee:
- any particular support response time;
- continuous or 24-hour support;
- personal engineering consulting;
- review or correction of PLC application logic;
- correction of AI-generated engineering logic;
- assistance with every TIA Portal project; or
- support for third-party configurations outside VCJump's supported environment.
Providing support does not transfer engineering responsibility from the user to VCJump.
18. Software Updates and Future Versions
VCJump may receive:
- maintenance releases;
- bug fixes;
- security updates;
- compatibility improvements; and
- other product updates.
The availability, scope and timing of updates are not guaranteed.
A perpetual license for the TIA Portal V21-compatible version of VCJump does not guarantee support for later Siemens TIA Portal versions.
Future major VCJump releases or compatibility with future TIA Portal versions may be offered under separate licensing terms or pricing.
VCJump may modify, add, remove or replace functionality in future releases, provided that nothing in this section retroactively converts a legitimately purchased perpetual license into a time-limited license.
19. Feedback
If you voluntarily provide VCJump with suggestions, feature requests, ideas, bug reports, usability comments or other feedback concerning the Software, VCJump may use, evaluate, implement or incorporate that feedback without restriction and without an obligation to compensate you.
Providing feedback does not transfer ownership of your PLC projects, source code, engineering data, confidential information or other proprietary project content to VCJump.
You should not intentionally include confidential third-party information in feedback unless you are authorized to provide it.
20. Intellectual Property
VCJump and its original software, source code, documentation, website content, branding, graphics and related materials are protected by applicable intellectual-property laws.
VCJump is licensed, not sold.
Purchasing a VCJump license grants only the limited right to use the Software in accordance with these Terms.
Ownership of VCJump, its source code, architecture, intellectual property and related proprietary rights is not transferred to the purchaser.
Third-party trademarks, software and intellectual property remain the property of their respective owners.
21. Disclaimer of Warranties
To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law, VCJump is provided "as is" and "as available", without warranties or guarantees beyond those expressly stated in these Terms.
VCJump does not warrant or guarantee that:
- the Software will operate without interruption or error;
- VCJump will be compatible with every TIA Portal project, computer configuration or engineering environment;
- every synchronization, compilation or validation operation will succeed;
- AI-generated or AI-assisted engineering output will be correct, complete or suitable for its intended application;
- successful compilation or validation means that resulting PLC logic is functionally correct or appropriate for a real machine, process or system;
- VCJump will detect every programming, engineering or configuration error;
- VCJump will prevent every unintended engineering change;
- a modified or saved project state can always be automatically restored, reversed or undone;
- a project can always be recovered where an appropriate backup has not been maintained; or
- VCJump will remain compatible with future changes to Siemens software, AI services or other third-party products.
The user remains responsible for engineering review, testing, verification, backups and final approval of all engineering changes.
To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law, all other express, implied or statutory warranties are excluded.
Nothing in these Terms excludes or limits warranties, consumer protections or other rights that cannot legally be excluded.
22. Limitation of Liability
To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law, VCJump and its owner, operator, developers and licensors will not be liable for indirect, incidental, special, exemplary, punitive or consequential damages arising out of or relating to the download, installation, evaluation, purchase, licensing, use or inability to use VCJump.
This includes, without limitation, losses arising from:
- loss of production;
- machine or process downtime;
- loss of profits, revenue, contracts or business opportunities;
- commissioning delays;
- loss, corruption, deletion or overwriting of engineering data;
- unintended engineering changes;
- unintended PLC software modifications;
- inability to restore a previous TIA Portal project state;
- changes synchronized, compiled, validated or saved that the user later wishes to reverse;
- errors or omissions in AI-generated or AI-assisted engineering output;
- reliance on a successful compilation or validation result;
- failure to maintain an appropriate backup;
- interruption of engineering work;
- incompatibility with third-party products or services; or
- equipment or process downtime resulting from engineering changes subsequently deployed or commissioned by the user.
To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law, the total aggregate liability of VCJump and its owner or operator for all claims arising out of or relating to a particular VCJump paid license shall not exceed the amount actually paid for that license.
For a free trial or other use for which no amount was paid, liability will be limited to the maximum extent permitted by applicable law.
The user remains responsible for:
- reviewing engineering changes;
- maintaining backups;
- determining whether changes should be saved;
- deciding whether engineering changes should be deployed; and
- commissioning and operating the resulting automation system.
VCJump does not itself download software to PLCs or perform online PLC operations.
Any subsequent downloading, commissioning or deployment of engineering changes is outside the current VCJump workflow and remains under the user's responsibility.
Nothing in these Terms excludes or limits liability that cannot legally be excluded or limited, including liability to the extent applicable law prohibits limitation for fraud, intentional misconduct, personal injury or other non-excludable liability.
23. Safety-Critical, Production and Commissioning Use
VCJump is an engineering assistance tool.
It is not:
- a safety system;
- a safety function;
- a functional-safety validation tool;
- a safety certification system; or
- a substitute for qualified engineering judgment.
VCJump must not be relied upon as the sole means of creating, reviewing, approving or validating safety-related or safety-critical engineering logic.
Where VCJump or AI-assisted engineering is used in connection with:
- a production machine;
- an industrial process;
- a production facility;
- commissioning activities; or
- a safety-related project,
the user is responsible for applying all appropriate independent:
- engineering review;
- testing;
- verification;
- commissioning procedures;
- change-control procedures;
- risk assessment; and
- functional-safety procedures
required for the specific application.
VCJump does not certify that AI-generated or AI-assisted engineering logic complies with:
- any functional-safety standard;
- any regulatory requirement;
- any SIL level;
- any PL level; or
- any other safety classification or requirement.
Successful synchronization, compilation or validation through VCJump does not constitute functional-safety validation, machine-safety approval or approval for commissioning.
The user is solely responsible for determining whether and how VCJump is appropriate for a particular engineering environment or application.
24. Export Controls, Sanctions and Trade Restrictions
The user is responsible for complying with applicable export-control, sanctions, trade-restriction and import laws relating to the acquisition, use, transfer or export of VCJump.
VCJump may not be exported, transferred, supplied or used where doing so would violate applicable law.
Nothing in these Terms requires VCJump to provide, issue or continue a license where doing so would violate an applicable legal restriction or binding sanctions requirement.
25. License Misuse, Suspension and Termination
To the extent permitted by applicable law, VCJump may refuse to issue, replace or continue a license, or may suspend or terminate licensing rights, where:
- a license was fraudulently obtained;
- the VCJump licensing system is intentionally circumvented or manipulated;
- unauthorized licenses or copies are created;
- VCJump is illegally redistributed;
- the Software is resold or sublicensed without permission;
- VCJump is used for unlawful, unauthorized, fraudulent or malicious activity; or
- VCJump is otherwise used in material violation of these Terms.
A perpetual license is not revocable merely at VCJump's discretion where the user continues to comply with these Terms.
Termination for material license misuse or prohibited use does not create an automatic right to a refund.
Upon valid termination of licensing rights for material breach, the user must cease unauthorized use of VCJump.
Sections concerning license restrictions, prohibited use, intellectual property, engineering responsibility, project backups and recovery, engineering changes, warranty disclaimers, limitation of liability, governing law and any other provisions that by their nature are intended to survive will remain in effect after termination or expiration of these Terms.
26. Changes to These Terms
These Terms may be updated from time to time.
The current version will be published on the VCJump website together with its latest revision date.
Changes to these Terms will not retroactively remove legitimate perpetual usage rights already purchased, except where required by applicable law or where continued use materially violates applicable licensing restrictions.
If a future product or major version is supplied under different license terms, those terms may apply to that future product or version.
If any provision of these Terms is held to be invalid or unenforceable, the remaining provisions will remain effective to the maximum extent permitted by law.
Failure to enforce a provision of these Terms on one occasion does not waive the right to enforce it later.
27. Governing Law and Relationship to Payment Provider Terms
These Terms govern the VCJump software license and the relationship between the user and VCJump regarding use of the Software.
Purchases processed by Lemon Squeezy or another Merchant of Record or payment provider may separately be subject to that provider's buyer terms, payment terms, refund procedures, privacy policy and applicable governing law.
Those transaction terms do not replace these VCJump software-license Terms except where required by applicable law or the applicable transaction structure.
The VCJump software license and these Terms shall be governed by the laws of the State of Israel, without regard to conflict-of-law principles.
Nothing in these Terms deprives a consumer or other user of mandatory rights or protections granted by applicable law that cannot lawfully be waived or excluded by agreement.
Any dispute concerning the VCJump software license will be determined by a court of competent jurisdiction in accordance with applicable law.
The United Nations Convention on Contracts for the International Sale of Goods (CISG) shall not apply to the VCJump software license to the extent that its exclusion is legally permitted.
